-Dance Hall Days Myx

When Archie Bell says “we don’t only sing, but we dance just as good as we want” in the intro of Tighten Up, he is speaking from a point in a beatific future we’ve yet to arrive at. Disco guitar men, moogs, Drells, and psychedelic soul brothers have quested there and returned to sing a place it would take a whole lifetime to reach if science gave us two or three hundred years more to tighten up our dance.
