Seven Stars is a project I have worked on for 25 years. When you get your copy and see that it's a 30-page chapbook, you may fairly wonder if I got anything else done during those 25 years.
The poems form a kind of memoir/narrative of childhood experiences related to religion, suicide, and psychological trauma. Despite that, it's my intent that it will make you chuckle here and there.
It’s a semi-autobiographical narrative about a boy growing up in the South. The boy witnesses a neighbor’s suicide and then must contend with that trauma, in the religious environment in which he grew up. It’s a short book, made up of a mixture of accessible poems and prose, written in the boy’s voice. All the proceeds from sales of the book will go to the Crisis Center whose mission includes prevention of suicide, assistant those who have lost loved ones to suicide, and services to the victims of sexual assault.
Thanks for considering and then thanks for your order and supporting my favorite charity, The Crisis Center.
